Our Story

A place built specifically for us:

01

Created With Intention

An inclusive therapeutic space intentionally curated for Black women to feel safe, supported, and authentically themselves.

02

Rooted in Belonging

Healing hits different when you're in a space where your identity and lived experience are welcomed, affirmed and honored.

Our Approach

What guides the work:

Evidence-Based Care

Our work is culturally grounded and strength-based, rooted in evidence-based therapeutic approaches and informed by current psychological research. We thoughtfully integrate proven interventions with an understanding of the client's needs, goals, and experiences.

Clinically Sound and Credentialed

Therapy should be both compassionate and clinically sound. Our approach is guided by licensed professionals who are governed by ethical standards, committed to training and ongoing clinical development โ€” providing care that is consistent with best practices.

Culturally Responsive

We recognize that culture, identity, relationships, and lived experience shape the lens through which we view ourselves. Our work centers the experiences of Black women while honoring each client's story as uniquely her own.

Holistic Well-Being

We look beyond symptoms to understand the whole person. Together, we explore patterns, relationships, emotions, core beliefs, and life experiences to support meaningful change.

In Her Words

"Hello, by way of introduction..."

I'm Jerisha, a psychotherapist who was educated at the CACREP-accredited community counseling program housed at the University of Missouri. I am both a Licensed Professional Counselor and an approved clinical supervisor in the state of Missouri. I am also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of California, and hold a board-certification from the National Board for Certified Counselors.

I earned a bachelor's degree in communications and a master's degree in community counseling. I have a wealth of credentials, however I most value my lived experiences: for they allow me to relate to people from the very environments from which I came. I serve as an example of what can be accomplished despite the limited expectations of society, which aids in connecting with clients on an authentic level.

Resources she's created:

Book

DisCovering Self Value

DisCovering Self Value illuminates the nature of "the self," what it is, how it's developed and the extent to which it shapes experience, relationships, and behavior across the lifespan.

Toolkit

Emotional Vocabulary Bundle

A practical collection of tools designed to help identify, name, understand, and process emotions. By expanding emotional vocabulary, these resources can support deeper self-awareness and make it easier to communicate internal experiences during and between therapeutic sessions.
